We Offer Telehealth

Your concern is our concern and in effort to continue to provide essential veterinary care to our patients during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have instituted telemedicine services. Our mission at Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital is to understand your pet's needs and provide accurate guidance and advice. We can help you with numerous concerns, from puppy and kitten advice to behavioural and dietary consults, to end of life discussions. We can also assist with determining the urgency of a situation in deciding whether your pet requires immediate care or if you can wait to see one of our veterinarians or alternatively, provide some management at home. We are still seeing patients in our hospital when required. Please call the office or visit our website to review our COVID-19 policies. Due to COVID-19, we have special dispensing policies in place to make sure your pet gets the parasite prevention medications they need this time of year. All medications can be dispensed safely in our outdoor dispensing location. Consultations are available during our business hours: M-F 9am - 6pm, Sat 9 - 3pm.   • Medical progress evaluation with your veterinarian for a condition that was previously dealt with diagnosed in the last three months at our hospital. Laparoscopic Spay Consultation (No Charge)

Phone Communication

  • A 15 minute telephone consultation with one of our veterinarians discussing laparoscopic spay as an option over a traditional spay procedure for your dog or cat. This is open to new patients of Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital or to patients from other clinics who are interested in this service. We happily accept referrals.
  • Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that involves a single, small incision that fits a high-definition surgical camera into the abdomen. The spay is performed using video guidance and the use of specialized instruments to perform the surgery. Like in humans, laparoscopic surgery is less painful and recovery is much faster. We are one of only a few general practices in Ontario that have this technology and have veterinarians and team members trained in these techniques.
  • Please note: this service is used only to discuss a laparoscopic spay as an option for your pet, what is involved, and cost for the service. Should you wish to discuss specific health concerns, a full telephone or video consultation will be required.
  • Requirements: Any device using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. An actual phone is required. Do not use Internet Explorer.
